US Strikes 3 Iranian Oil Tankers
US forces attacked three Iranian crude oil carriers, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on September 5. Military officials confirmed that the strikes were in response to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launching ballistic missiles toward two Navy warships in the region. CENTCOM stated that it permanently disabled two vessels, one near Kharg Island and the other near Jask. Another tanker was destroyed in the Gulf of Oman.
Kennedy Center Closes After Partial Ceiling Collapse
The Kennedy Center is closed after a portion of the ceiling inside the Grand Foyer collapsed on September 4 following heavy rain sweeping through Washington, DC. The Kennedy Center released images of the scene highlighting missing ceiling chunks and dust throughout the red carpet. No one was injured.
Trump to Speak on Night One of RNC Midterm Convention
President Donald Trump said he will speak on night one of the Republican National Committee's (RNC) Midterm Convention next week. Vice President JD Vance was initially scheduled to deliver the keynote address on the first night, and the president would speak on the second night. Five Dead in Amazon Cargo Plane Crash in Miami
At least five people were killed “and five others were injured when an Amazon cargo plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport and struck several vehicles Sunday, officials said. The crash prompted a roughly three-hour ground stop at the airport as emergency crews responded to the scene,” CBS News reports.
